WHAT WE BELIEVE

At Bay Area Polo, our mission is rooted in helping kids fall in love with the sport of water polo—while building character, community, and lifelong habits of health and teamwork.

Here’s what drives us:

Purpose: We’re here because water polo changed our lives. As youth sports become increasingly toxic or overly competitive, we created BAP to help kids rediscover joy in sport, team, and competition.

Outcomes: Success looks like every kid wanting to show up tomorrow. We believe in getting at least 1% better every day. Our aim is to build lifelong habits of health, teamwork, and a love for competition.

Tactics: We get there through effort, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. That means: pushing hard but not too hard, reinforcing the positive, winning and losing together, and setting expectations while holding each other accountable.

Validation: We know we’re winning when kids are smiling, coming back each day, referring friends, and when that competitive spirit is alive and healthy.

Our  Story

20 Years of Youth Water Polo

Founded in 2005, Bay Area Polo is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of water polo athletes. Led by the varsity girls coach at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, our program offers comprehensive training for youth players, from splashball to competitive teams in the under 10, under 12, and under 14 age groups. We take pride in our strong local presence and our consistent qualification for the Junior Olympics across multiple age divisions. At Bay Area Polo, we are committed to fostering a love for the sport while developing skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a supportive and challenging environment.
